Vitara Text Node

Vitara’s text node chart can be used in multiple ways; to create space between the visualizations, to show tittles, to display images or to show IBCS chart’s particular details.

Inputs

Attributes - At Least one attribute needs to be provided for the visualization.
Metrics - No metrics needed.
Use as Filter Option - Not Available

1. Space Between Visualizations

Add to dossier to create space between visualizations and adjusted for size to get the required look and feel for the VI dashboard.A sample dashboard shown below with spacer at the title area as well as in between two visualizations.

2. Show Filter Selection Elements

when we are using filter panel to filter the data in the dossier vitara text node chart can be used to show the filter selection.
Drag and drop the same attribute which you used in the filter panel into the “Editor” panel of the vitara text node chart. Hover the cursor on the chart, chart will show “Edit” button. Click on the “Edit” button, a popup window will open. In the “Text Properties” menu type “&” in the macro editor panel. The popup window will show all the possible macros i.e. the attributes added to the text node.

3. Tittles and Background Images

Text node chart can be used to show an image in the dossier. The steps to set a background image for all Vitara charts are explained in the following document backgroundImage.

We can use Vitara text node chart as a text container to show title of the dossier/document. Along with the background image feature, we can create a beautiful title to our dossier/document using vitara text node chart.

4. IBCS Specific Usage

Note: To know the IBCS features and functionalities please refer to the IBCS user guide.

We can use below macros in the text node chart in conjunction with IBCS enabled Vitara chart to display specific details in the IBCS enabled chart.
To set IBCS macros in the text node chart we need at least one IBCS enabled chart in the dossier/document.
If we have multiple IBCS enabled charts present in the dossier we have to select the chart on which we want to show the macro information.
Hover the cursor on the chart, chart will show “Edit” button. Click on the “Edit” button, a popup window will open. In the “Text Properties” menu “Select Chart Type” drop down box select the chart to which you want to apply the macro.

&[chart.list]:

This macro lists the sub graphs used to display series data types in the selected chart.
Data Types: Actual data (AC), Planned data (PL), Delta planned data, Percentage delta planned data.

&[chart.count]:

This macro will display number of sub graphs used in the IBCS mode.

This macro will display the data types used in the chart: AC, PL, Delta PL, Percentage Delta PL.

This macro provides information about the series used to Sort the IBCS enabled chart.

This macro will list starting and ending element in the category axis and the series used to draw those category elements.
