Custom SVG Markers

Note: Vitara Charts supports only SVG file type as custom markers.

2 simple steps to use custom images as markers:

The SVG files can be used as custom marker in two ways:

1. Are you using physical svg file or web URL:

Physical SVG file:
Step 1:

Copy the images which you want to set as a custom marker in the below folders.

1. tomcat\webapps\MicroStrategy\plugins\VitaraCharts\custom\images
2. tomcat\webapps\MicroStrategyLibrary\plugins\VitaraCharts\custom\images
3. /var/opt/MicroStrategy/install/Export/resources/plugins/VitaraCharts/custom/images/

The above given paths are for indicative purpose only, you have to use the similar paths according to your server folder structure and the web server you are using.
It is mandatory to copy the SVG image files in all the above three locations.

Step 2:

Open the custom marker tab, in the “SVG path” text input box enter the name of the image including the extension ‘.svg’.
Click the ‘Apply’ button. You can see the custom marker in the chart.
Note: Image name is case sensitive.

Using Web URL:

If you have a web URL of a SVG image file, which you want to use as a custom marker, you can directly paste the web URL in the custom marker tab’s text input box. Click the ‘Apply’ button. You can see the custom marker in the chart. In this method no need to copy the image files physically anywhere.
Note: Currently, using web URL is not working in android library application and android mobile application.

If you are using vitar charts only in the MicroStrategy web application, and web library application, then this is enough.
If you are using vitara charts in mobile applications (library app and mobile app) also, then continue the below step.
